London Fashion Weekend '11

Hello all!

As most of you will probably already know (as I did bang on about it a bit) for the last two days I've been at London Fashion Weekend! (not to be confused with London Fashion Week - the difference is, you can buy tickets for the 'weekend' but you have to be invited to attend the actual 'week') Anyway, the 'weekend' goes on for a few days and is held at the official London Fashion Week venue, Somerset House. It's basically a high-end shopping event consisting of  a few catwalk shows, champagne and lots of little boutiquey stalls. There were also a lot of Elizabeth Arden representatives there selling and applying makeup, so that's my explanation for why in some photos I go from pale pink lips to bright (rather badly applied) red...
My friend and I both got premium passes and front row catwalk seats for Saturday AND Sunday - so we had plenty of time to enjoy it! I'd definitely recommend it, although if you're not a bottomless pit of money it can be a bit painful to watch everyone else buying all the beautiful clothes/jewellery...

I will also say this : platform shoes + cobblestones = disaster.

First day of University

Hello all!
I really do apologise for the lack of posts recently but I have been a very busy Bella! It was my first day at university today and it went really well (yay for student card!!) and I'm actually really excited to get cracking on with some work! Yes I'm sad.
I recently got these (mildly hideous) snakeskin jeans from Zara, where I actually tried them on as a 'joke' and became rather ashamedly attached to them... such strange mixtures of emotions but I ended up getting them!

Also, at the weekend I'll be staying in the city for London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House, so look out for some photos and bits and bobs about that :)

Ruffle Boucle Jacket

I've had my eye on this jacket for a while with my Mother in mind, so today I finally bought it for her! (such a good daughter..) While helping her pair it with things, I couldn't help putting it on myself and now I'm afraid we may be fighting over it. Oh well, YAY FOR SHARING!

WARNING : if you are offended by chipped nails, look away now.

'LOVE' Giveaway!

I absolutely LOVE this current phase of mini/maxi skirts and dresses the blog world seems to be having! Finally a 'trend' that actually doesn't look horrendous on me! (AHEM.. skinny jeans.)
I thought I would go absolutely off the rails and not take the photos in my garden for once, but in a FEILD! (the field had cows..) Utter madness.

Now more to the point, I am having a giveaway and the lovely people at LOVE have very kindly volunteered to donate any item from their website - of the winner's choice, as the prize! So you could nab yourself one of these dresses for FREEE!

The rules are very simple really :
1. You must Follow me! (If you don't already)
2. 'Like' LOVE on facebook - you can do this here.
3. Just tell me in the comments below what you think of this look, and what you would choose if you were to win!

This particular one is from LOVE and you can buy it here.

p.s. Just to confirm, this giveaway is for my followers only - so if you comment to enter but aren't following your entry won't count!

Orange Lips

I'm a big fan of mad, bright lip colour so I thought I'd put one of my good old favourites out there. True, it might be a bit OTT for some people's tastes but for me, I love it and I hope you do too!

Here I'm wearing 'Morange' by MAC. I've never been quite sure how to pronounce this one.. is it Morange, like orange the beloved spherical fruit? Or Moraaanje with a french accent? Who knows, I've heard both said. I fear we shall never know.

(Urban Decay eyeshadow 'Maui Wowie')

These are just a couple of photos I took a few days ago on a whim (so forgive the slight messiness) and I've mixed in a few shots from Oxford Fashion Week press party last year, so you can see it's still going strong!

In an English Country Garden

Hello all!
My mother bought me this jacket from H&M quite recently and it's only now I've formed a look with it! At first I found it a bit too 'rah rah horsey horsey jolly good show' but I actually quite like it. I'm not sure if it's very 'me' though, but everyone I've asked keeps telling me they love it so I thought I'd just put it out there and get a response from you all! I imagine you and all of lookbook are absolutely sick of my garden... I need to find other places to take photos, but I just couldn't help myself with this one, standing in the vegetable patch just seemed so appropriate!

Let me know what you all think?

Also, on a completely unrelated note : you know when you comment on a blog and you have to do the 'verification' thing to make sure you're not a robot, so you have to type in "hyufglz" or some random selection of letters? Well... recently I keep getting ones like "STINKY" or "RATTY" ...is it trying to tell me something?! Cheeky bugger.

Python & 'LOVE'

Hello all :)
I'm currently sorting through my photos from my trip to London yesterday (don't panic.. there aren't tooo many!) and so I thought in the meantime I'd add a few out-take shots of my two latest looks on lookbook which both revolve around the same brand. I picked up this dress in the concessions section of Topshop Oxford Circus the last time I was in London visiting a friend. 'Concessions' just means all the other little brands they sell within the Topshop store itself, and you find these in the basement where they also sell (rather overpriced) vintage items and the shoe department!
The dress is by a brand called LOVE that has it's own section there, they have lots of really nice pieces and I particularly like their skirts and dresses with the 'high/low' skirt! (where it's short at the front and long at the back)

'LOVE' had also recently sent one of their skirts to a selection of bloggers/lookbookers, and after seeing it I desperately wanted one! Sadly they didn't have any left in stock online so I emailed them explaining who I was, and asking if there was any way I could get my hands on one! Very swiftly a helpful lady (I believe her name was Inga) got back to me telling me to keep an eye out on the website and to keep checking back as they didn't have any left at the moment. Disappointed I accepted there was nothing I could do but wait! But lo and behold, not long after the lady emailed me back to say they'd found one left! (Hallelujah!)
So a day or so later I recieved this lovely little package in the post, containing the skirt!

I would definitely reccommend you take a look on their website as they have a lot of beautiful clothes and the prices are very reasonable!

Anyway, I hope you like and I hope you're all well and enjoying the last days before school/uni begins! My first day at university is on the 21st!
