Bunny Print and Forget-me-nots in my hair...

Hello all!
In my opinion, making an outfit your own entirely comes down to the way in which you accessorise, and this outfit is the epitome of that point. We all know that switching up details like lip colour, sunglasses, rings, necklaces and hair pieces can change everything. I know the well known phrase is 'less is more' but for me, more is more! Personally, my penchant is for statement jewellery and bright lipstick, the more the merrier and the bigger the better!
Inside me lies one of those stereotypically mad, victorian old women who wear all of their jewellery at once, and I find it incredibly tempting to just throw on all of my favourite pieces simultaneously!
(Sunglasses : eBay. Blouse & Skirt : Topshop. Pearls : Granny's.)

I completely adore this 'bunny print skirt' - so sweet and SO appropriate for the springtime. As well as matching perfectly with a few fresh forget-me-nots in my hair, the detail of the rabbit print is so intricate and almost reminds me of a modern Beatrix Potter illustration!

The rest of my evening is going to entail catching up on the last few episodes of Game of Thrones, which I have been completely enthralled by. I only started watching it last week, but as soon as I saw the first episode I rushed out like a rabid animal to buy the books! Anything medieval/supernatural and I am absolutely sold! I must admit that the medieval genre is my secret love. (Lord of the Rings is a fave... don't judge!) Is anyone else a fan or read the books?

I hope you are all having a lovely start to your week, and don't forget to follow me on Twitter and Instagram (username : arabellagolby) now I have finally caught up with the technology! :)

Floral Trousers and Peplum Top

Hello all!
Firstly, I know it's most likely that you'll have already seen these trousers on several blogs as EVERYONE has them, but in my opinion you can never have too much 'ways to wear' inspiration, so - I thought I would throw my hat into the styling ring.
Secondly, after months and months of being smug and protesting 'I will never get Twitter!' ...I got twitter. Forgive me! I assure you that I am a woman of strong principles, but in this instance my resolve was shaken! After stalking noticing several of my favourite bloggers (i.e. Michelle/Emma etc) chatting amongst themselves on twitter, I felt it was probably time I muscled in and tried to get involved. So if you'd like to, you can follow me by clicking here :)

Top : River Island. Necklace & Trousers : H&M (eBay). Sunglasses : Camden Market. Lipstick : 'Morange' by M.A.C.

Thirdly, and then the waffling will cease I promise, has anyone else noticed the 'follow' button has gone from the top left hand corner of blogger? I keep stumbling across people that I'd like to follow but I cannot, and in turn I've had people telling me they are unable to follow me. I'm hoping that it is just a temporary glitch, but I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed this problem?

I hope you are all having a happy week!

Boucle Jacket with Bow-Tie

Hello all!
I'm back at long last, after a busy week of go-go-go! On Thursday I finished my first year of university for the summer, and I have absolutely no idea how I am going to even begin filling the FOUR MONTHS until September. So it's quite likely you'll be seeing a lot more of me on here! This look is sort of undeliberately Gossip Girl meets English all-girls boarding school, perhaps I am subconsciously rebelling after years of having to wear a hideous kilt as my school uniform. In fact, I was sent home to change on my first day of sixth-form because I turned up in a huge 'poofy' skirt and military-style jacket, complete with gold buttons and shoulder pads. Michael Jackson would have been proud... but apparently this was deemed inappropriate business-wear. I probably should have chosen to wear a trouser suit from M&S, what can I say? I like to live my life on the edge. (insert sarcasm here)
Jacket : ASOS. Shirt : Topshop.

I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend!

Vintage Yves Saint Laurent

Hello all!
The story of how this beautiful, vintage Yves Saint Laurent jacket ended up in my grateful arms is quite an interesting one (I'm lying, it's basically just me telling you a lengthened description of how 'pass the parcel' works) so how could I not feel obliged to regale you all with the tale!
Originally, this piece popped up for sale on the vintage clothing website Inca, and was purchased by my dear friend Faye after being naughtily encouraged by yours truly. After Faye, who is very petite and only 5'1, had received the jacket, she came to the decision that it was too big for her. So when I heard this I suggested that I purchase it, realising that it may well be my only opportunity to ever own an actual piece of YSL (and me being 5'9 I didn't think it being too big would be an issue!) So, lovely Faye packaged up the jacket and sent it on its merry way to me!
In the end, I'm besotted with this jacket and I'm positive it is something I will keep forever. It is altogether beautiful - from its silk lining, shoulderpads and collar tips to its 'YSL' emblazoned buttons.

Shirt & Leather Trousers : Zara. Shoes : Topshop. Earrings : Gogo Philip. Jacket : do I really need to say..

As you can see, Teddy the toy poodle wanted to get in on the action and could you really deny love to that little face?
P.S  I really recommend you all go and check out Faye's youtube channel, she has a real flair for makeup artistry and is also completely hilarious.
